THE WOODEN BOWL

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law and a four year old grandson.

The family ate together every night at the dinner table. The old man found it difficult to eat.

The son and daughter soon got irritated. 'We must do something about the old man!' said the son, 'I have had enough of spilled milk, noisy eating                      and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There the grandfather ate alone in a wooden bowl as he had broken a dish or two in                     the past.

One evening before dinner, the father noticed his son playing on the floor with wood scraps. 'What are you doing?' asked the father, 'Oh! I was
                    making bowls for you and mama to eat when you grow old’ said the son.

Both the parents were quiet. They knew what they had done wrong. That very evening the husband took the grandfather hand and gently led him back to the family table.

Moral:    Take care of those you love, …today and everyday!
