Currimakers is a team of experts that innovates and creates exceptional curriculum in academics that matches international standards. It is creating a curriculum that caters to the learning needs of each individual, builds the ability to thrive in a team and attains the larger goals of education. Powered with experiential learning, the curriculum has all the elements of creativity to bring about holistic development of children. The team along with this trains and equips the teachers and education leaders of Presidium.

Subject Based Learning

The curriculum for each core subject namely English, Hindi, Math, Science, Social Science, IT is unique at Presidium as it breaks away from conventional ways of teaching. The emphasis is not on rote learning of facts and figures but understanding concepts so that children can understand real life issues. To make this happen, Currimakers create detailed Instruction Maps (iMaps) for teachers to understand the what, why and how of teaching learning process. Teachers are provided with supporting tools and aids to execute the iMaps and ensure learning in the true sense of the term.

Project Based Learning

Project based learning is taken up in higher grades. Whereas TBL covers the first two stages of experiential learning cycle i.e students do an activity and reflect on it, in PBL students conceptualize and apply their understanding as well to create products that have real life value. PBL provides opportunities for students to pursue their own interests and questions and make decisions about how they will find answers and solve problems. Many of the skills learned through PBL are essential for any venture including the ability to work well with others, make thoughtful decisions, take initiative, and solve complex problems.

Theme Based Learning

Themes provide a problem where the solution demands exploring multiple perspectives. This method moves away from the classroom practices that are teacher-centered. Instead, it emphasizes wholesome learning that is long- term, connects many subjects, and is student-centered. TBL helps in making learning relevant and useful to students by establishing connections to life outside the classroom, addressing real world concerns, and developing real world skills.

What is experiential learning cycle?
Children, instead of being lectured on a concept, enga ge in an activity or an experience. To put it simply, they do rather than sit and listen.
After doing an activity, they reflect on their experience. What did they do, what happened, what was the reaction, they ponder over their experience.
After having understood the concept, children use that knowledge or understanding in their life. For example, using the understanding of combustion to create a motor boat or using the knowledge of mapping to create a map of the school. .
Reflection leads to understanding and understanding leads to conceptualization in the mind of the children. They, at this stage, begin to correlate what leads to what.

Students benefit from this, and how!
